The quick report

We spent a little over a week in Colorado visiting Barry's parents and sister. Here are the highlights.

  • Left at bedtime (7 pm) and arrived a little before 5 am.
  • Twins didn't adjust very well to sleeping and napping in a new place all the time, so it was a rough week. Nana and Aunt Robyn were able to borrow 2 pack 'n plays, 2 swings, high chairs, and a bunch of toys. I don't know how we would have survived without the swings.
  • Nana, Papa, and Aunt Robyn had lots of fun playing with the twins.
  • The twins achieved a new milestone... sitting up without assistance for long periods of time
  • Mommy and Daddy got a night off. A movie ("Knowing") on a giant screen, dinner at Benihana, and a full night's sleep at a 4 star hotel. I slept for 10 hours with just a bathroom break. It was so nice. Thank you Nana and Papa.
  • Spring Snow Storm
  • Floor seats at the Colorado Avalanche game (NHL). It was lots of fun even though they lost. Watching the 8-9 year olds play hockey at the period breaks was a highlight of the game.
  • Visited with twins' great-grandmother and other extended family. The twins played with their 2nd cousin Brayden for the first time.
  • Bought Alyna's spring and summer wardrobe at the outlet mall. (we got lots of nice hand-me-downs for Ryan)
  • Saw 2 old friends from Harding at my in-laws church on Sunday. It's such a small world.
  • Left for home at 4 pm on Tuesday, got home at 2 am. The babies did really well considering the long time in the car seats. They smiled when they saw their room at 2 am.
I'm glad we're not doing another trip for a while. It was a lot of work.
