I was on duty in the nursery during the worship service the week before last and was talking to Kellyn who was playing a toy. Alyna, who was playing with a baby doll, came around from behind my chair and said, "You're waking my baby up." Then she balled her fists in front of her and said in a stern, serious voice, "This is serious."
I laughed and played along with her, hushing Kellyn. And the scene repeated itself several times as Kellyn wouldn't stop making loud, happy noises playing with her toy.
Tonight I finally remembered at dinner to tell Barry about it, and he laughed and asked her, "What does serious mean?"
Alyna replied, "Mommy was waking my baby up, and that was serious." Again she balled her fists in front of her and used that stern voice, and we just laughed.
She's quite the little drama queen, and loves to dress up in her fairy dress and princess tiara.
